Densha Otoko “Trendeki Adam” Yamada Tsuyoshi (Trendeki Adam) tam bir Utaku’dur. Boş kaldığı tüm zamanları, anime, manga ve Cosplay’lere ayıran Yamada bir gün evine tren ile geri dönerken güzel bir kız olan Aoyama Saori (Hermes) ile karşılaşır. Güzelliği ile kendinden geçmiştir ama yüzüne bile bakmaya utanmaktadır. Tam bunlar yaşanırken trene sarhoş birisi biner ve Aoyami’ye sarkıntılık eder. Biranda kendine gelen Yamada adamı durdurmaya çalışır. Bundan çok etkilenen Aoyami ona teşekkür etmek ve hediye göndermek için adresini ister. Aoyama, Yamada’ya bir fincan takımı hediye gönderir. Fincan takımının altında Hermes yazmaktadır. Ne yapacağını bilmeyene Yamada, internet Forumu üzerinden diğerleri ile paylaşır. Forum üzerinedeki kişilerin yardımı ile aşık olduğu Aoyama’ya ulaşabilecek mi?
